Purple cakes for Purple Kay!

The house is quiet, Patricks off to work and the kids are having a lie in...the joy of a peaceful house! The sun is shining and casting shadows all over the house i love that too. Some time for me, it was hectic last night with Sean having one of his meltdowns!!So this is my time to gather my thoughts  and have a bite of breakfast in the peace and quiet,,,,with my little friend, my companion the little girl that follows me from room to room, guards me  every second of the day!

Time for breakfast! How unexciting...but i must try and loose some weight! So no bacon  sandwiches or fry ups!!

The clock ticks loudly and i find it strangely comforting! So many things have happened over the last few months and to say Ive been stressed is an understatement!! But life ticks on and Kay's coming for coffee today...Kay is one of my best friends , in fact a new friend. I met her  at Suzicraft and we  just clicked!

I made cakes ..Purple cakes for Purple Kay!! You've guessed she has purple hair!!
My lovely friend Kay.....

Please can i have one!!

This is my latest charity shop find and i fell in love with it...so did Kay!  It was only 50p from the cat protection shop!  i love hares!Roses from Patrick not for me!!...for his little girl  !

Bye bye Kay...time for a well earned snooze !

Frida

Artist Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907, in Coyocoán, Mexico City, Mexico. Considered one of Mexico's greatest artists, Frida Kahlo began painting after she was severely injured in a bus accident. Kahlo later became politically active and married fellow communist artist Diego Rivera in 1929

Frida  lived a colourful but tragic life contracting Polio at six years old which left her with a limp and nearly  losing her life in a near fatal bus accident

She started to paint to while away the many hours she spent on her back in  bed.

Frida painted many self portraits claiming....
"I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best

Of her 143 paintings, 55 are self-portraits which often incorporate symbolic portrayals of physical and psychological wounds.

Frida loved animals and Afton  Incorporated them within her art,

Frida and Diego

Frida died in July 13 Th 1954
