Playing in the street....

I took these photographs about 14year ago ..and  as i was editing them i was struck by the fact that  today i never see children outside playing!!! This makes me sad  ...is it a sign of the times. Is it  technology that has changed  children's love of  the out doors or the fact that parents don't think its as safe in this day and age??
Our kids were outside every day, rain or shine !!!We had a lot of children in our streets and  they spent hours outside...

I'm so pleased i  captured these amazing moments!!Hide and seek....spider hunting   water fights in the summer  ...pretend guns! water bombs...bike  riding and many many more games!!

The parents in our community  got together with the local church and  the council and  put in for funding ...we started a drama group..and lots of other stuff!!

Happy days!!!

All of the kids grew up to be amazing adults lots of them parents themselves....
I have thousands of images of the drama group , the summer visits  ,church outings   kayaking   Our cheer leading group...

I look at them with such fond memories i still see a lot of the children  now and they always talk about the great times we had with fondness....

I feel privileged to have been a part of their childhood and their memories along with the other adults who made up our amazing team!!!

Its not till you reminisce and start thinking back that you realise how awesome it was and  to think that we done so much..it was hard work but fun!!!

It had an impact on every one....such   special     memories xxx
