My poor little dog has had really bad eyes this week,She went to bed last week and woke up with sticky eyes!! I thought that maybe shed been lying in a draft and had cold in her eyes,I bathed them every day but after a few days i knew there was something not right,Maybe she had an infection?Off we went to our vets still feeling confident it was nothing really bad, As soon as the vet saw her he said is Penny insured?? My heart sank as one shes not ! and two i knew it was going to be bad news!!
The vet knew straight away what was wrong.Penny's tear ducts had stopped working! Theres no cure for it it just happens!!Theres no operation that she can have , its genetic and its very common in Westies! I was devastated.....poor thing she has to be on medication for the rest of her life 20 drops a day which she hates .She is very stressed about the whole situation growling and really biting when you try to put her drops in.Shes a very neurotic dog at the best of times because of her first 6 month of life which wasn't very good. So we will just have to pray that shes going to be ok.....
